An addendum to the ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 standard was recently published by the Telecommunications Industry Association. Titled Additional Considerations for Category 6A Patch Cord Testing, the new standard will allow test heads qualified to IEC 61935-2 to be used to qualify a Cat 6A patch cord to TIA-568-C.2 (aka: C6A Compliance). Previously, ISO C6A and TIA C6A had slightly differing requirements. Although the differences were negligible, it was large enough so a test head could not be both ISO and TIA compliant. The addendum solves this problem and is labeled TIA-568-C.2-2. For more information or to purchase TIA cabling standards, click here to visit the TIA Standards Store.
